Plan prices are one provider's published 2026 tiers (Strategic Micro Systems, Managed IT Services Cost Per User: A 2026 Pricing Guide). The in-house figure is the median salary for network and computer systems administrators (BLS OEWS May 2025 via O*NET OnLine, Las Vegas-Henderson-North Las Vegas, NV: $103,440) divided by 0.70, because benefits are 30% of total compensation (BLS Employer Costs for Employee Compensation, June 2026). This is our calculation. Licenses, hardware and projects are extra either way, and one person cannot cover every hour.

Managed IT services
Managed IT services are a monthly arrangement in which an outside company runs and secures a business's computers, network and cloud systems and answers staff support requests.

Las Vegas managed IT services: what to budget

Plan on $100 to $250 per user per month for full managed IT in Las Vegas, the range in 2026 pricing guides from providers 12. A 25-person office lands at $2,500 to $6,250 a month. Firms that run lots of shared terminals or point-of-sale stations may get per-device quotes instead, and Kaseya's 2023 survey found more MSPs charging $50 to $100 per device per month than any other price 8.

The local wage split is unusual. Las Vegas systems administrators earned a median $103,440 in May 2025, above the national $99,130, while help desk specialists earned $53,780, well below the national $61,860 39610. Entry-level help is affordable to hire; senior skills are not. Many local firms respond by keeping a help desk person and buying the senior layer from a provider.

A hospitality economy with payment data everywhere

Leisure and hospitality employed 302,500 people in the metro in August 2026 (preliminary), about one in four nonfarm jobs 5. The largest employers are casino-resort operators: MGM Resorts (50,000+), Caesars Entertainment (20,000+), Wynn Resorts (10,000+), Apollo Global Management (8,500+) and Boyd Gaming (8,000+) 11. Professional and business services added another 184,800 metro jobs and education and health services 142,200 in August 2026 (preliminary) 5.

The thousands of smaller businesses around them, restaurants, event producers, convention contractors, tour operators and retailers, all take card payments and guest data. Clark County had 54,202 establishments in 2023, including 12,395 with 10 to 49 staff and 2,762 with 50 to 249 4.

There is also a defense presence. Nellis Air Force Base trains military personnel, and with Creech Air Force Base it uses the 2.9 million-acre Nevada Test and Training Range 12. Suppliers to those bases should read our CMMC overview.

The county also had 962 computer systems design and related services establishments 4. Our hospitality and retail IT page covers sector needs in more depth.

Nevada law: PCI DSS is written into statute

Nevada writes the card industry's security standard into law. NRS 603A.215 requires businesses that accept payment cards to comply with PCI DSS, and others must encrypt personal information sent outside their secure system 13. The same chapter requires reasonable security measures 13.

After a breach, Nevada requires notice to affected residents in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay. The statute sets no Attorney General filing; the consumer reporting agencies hear about it only when a single notice goes to more than 1,000 people 1314.

Consider a Las Vegas restaurant group whose card terminals are compromised. The PCI DSS duty in NRS 603A.215 means the question after the incident is whether those terminals met the standard 13. If 1,200 diners must be notified, the 1,000-person line is crossed and the consumer reporting agencies must be told too 13. A provider that keeps the terminals on their own network and logs access gives you the facts you need to write those notices quickly.

Nevada has no comprehensive consumer privacy law as of October 2026 15, but its consumer health data law, in effect since March 31, 2024, covers businesses that collect, share or sell health data of Nevada consumers 16. Spas, wellness clinics and fitness businesses should check it.

Nevada logged 13,366 FBI IC3 complaints in 2025 with about $302 million in reported losses 17.

Cybersecurity services in Las Vegas

For Las Vegas firms, the security work that pays off first protects payments and the staff who process them. Front-desk and accounting teams see a steady flow of invoices and refund requests, and nationally business email compromise accounted for about $3.05 billion of 2025 losses reported to the FBI 17.

A practical order of work:

  1. Keep card systems on their own network segment and know your PCI scope.

  2. Turn on MFA for email, payment portals and remote access; Microsoft research found it cut compromise risk by 99.22% 18.

  3. Put endpoint detection and response on every workstation and server.

  4. Back up off the network and test a restore.

Security awareness training is cheap relative to the risk in a high-turnover workforce: one vendor's published list prices for 25 to 50 seats run $2.40 to $3.75 per seat per month on a three-year term 19. Train new hires in their first week, not at the next annual session.

Remote access tools deserve attention: 80% of ransomware attacks on At-Bay's insureds came through one 20. Our cybersecurity guide for small business and managed firewall page cover the details.

IT consulting, co-managed IT and picking a Las Vegas provider

A co-managed contract fits Las Vegas firms that already pay a local help desk tech. The provider adds monitoring, security tools and senior engineers; one provider's 2026 estimate is $45 to $175 per user per month 21. See co-managed IT. Project work such as a POS network rebuild can be bought from IT consultants at $150 to $250 an hour 22; our IT consulting page explains when that fits.

Ask each provider:

  • Can you document our PCI scope?

  • Do you cover nights and weekends, when hospitality businesses are busiest?

  • If a register or kitchen printer goes down during a Saturday dinner rush, does a technician come out, and is that billed as an emergency call?

  • Do you cover sites in Henderson and North Las Vegas at the same rate as the Strip corridor?

  • What happens to our data at contract end? Our guide to choosing an MSP has the full list. Compare nearby markets in Phoenix, Los Angeles and Orange County, or browse the managed IT services directory.

Common questions

What does managed IT cost for a Las Vegas business?

Las Vegas quotes for managed IT usually fall between $100 and $250 per user per month, the range in published 2026 provider guides 12. Coverage for nights and weekends, which hospitality firms often need, can add to the price.

Does Nevada law require PCI compliance?

Yes for businesses that accept payment cards. NRS 603A.215 requires them to comply with PCI DSS 13. Confirm how it applies to your setup with counsel or your payment processor.

What does Nevada require after a data breach?

Nevada requires notice to affected residents in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay 13. No Attorney General filing is required, though notifying more than 1,000 people at one time also triggers notice to the credit bureaus 13.

Should a Las Vegas IT company offer after-hours on-site support?

If you run a restaurant, venue or retail floor, yes. Card terminals and network gear fail during service hours, often at night or on weekends, and a remote session cannot swap hardware. Ask how on-site work is scheduled and billed.

Is it cheaper to hire IT staff in Las Vegas?

Help desk staff are relatively affordable, with a local median of $53,780 6. Senior admins are not, at $103,440 before benefits 3. Many firms combine one internal hire with co-managed support.

What cybersecurity does a Las Vegas restaurant or retailer need?

Start with network segmentation for card systems, MFA, endpoint protection and tested backups. Those cover PCI basics and the most common attack routes. Our hospitality IT guide goes further.
